HandbookHub – Refund Policy

This Refund Policy is part of and incorporated into our Terms & Conditions. Capitalized terms not defined here have the meanings given in the Terms.

1. Evaluating the Service (Handbook purchase & legacy trials)

New customers: New Starter and Growth subscriptions start with a 7-day free trial (a payment method is required to begin; cancel before the trial ends and you will not be charged). You can also evaluate full team features by purchasing Handbook ($19 one-time) — it includes 14 days of full Growth access. After that window you keep Handbook forever or subscribe.

Legacy trials: Some accounts may be on a different trial length on Starter or Growth under earlier terms. During any trial you get access to full plan features.

  • A payment method is required at signup for trials and subscriptions
  • If you are on a free trial, cancel anytime before the trial ends and you will not be charged
  • If you do not cancel a free trial, your subscription converts to a paid plan at the end of the trial

By starting a paid subscription (including allowing a free trial to convert, where applicable), you acknowledge that you have had the opportunity to evaluate the Service and are satisfied with its functionality, features, and AI-generated content quality. You also request that the Service begins immediately upon activation of your subscription and acknowledge that you lose your right of withdrawal once the subscription is activated.

1a. Handbook Plan – One-Time Purchase

The Handbook plan is a $19 one-time purchase (not a subscription). It includes 14 days of full Growth access, then continues under Handbook plan limits unless you subscribe.

  • Payment is charged immediately at checkout
  • Before paying, you can preview a personalized handbook structure at no charge
  • After payment you receive one-time AI handbook generation and PDF export as part of the purchase
  • Once AI content generation for your handbook has completed, or once you export any handbook or page to PDF, the Handbook purchase is non-refundable — that content and any export represent permanently delivered value you retain indefinitely
  • Dissatisfaction with AI-generated content is not grounds for a Handbook refund
  • You may upgrade to Starter or Growth at any time for ongoing subscription features

2. Strict No-Refund Policy

All paid fees — including Handbook one-time purchases and Starter/Growth subscription fees — are non-refundable, except as stated in Section 1a for Handbook before generation/export, or where strictly required by law.

By purchasing or subscribing, you understand and agree:

  • For Starter/Growth: you start with a free trial (payment method required) and are billed only if you don't cancel before it converts — so you can evaluate the Service during the trial before paying
  • For Handbook: you had a free structure preview and accepted that payment starts delivery immediately, including the included Growth access window
  • You are satisfied with the Service's functionality and AI output quality
  • All charges are final once processed (subject to Section 1a for Handbook)
  • No partial, pro-rated, or full refunds will be issued for:
    • Unused subscription time
    • Dissatisfaction with AI-generated content
    • Features not meeting your expectations
    • Failure to use the Service
    • Forgetting to cancel before renewal
    • Changes to your business needs

3. PDF Export Confirms Delivered Value

Once you export any handbook or page to PDF, your purchase or subscription becomes non-refundable under any circumstances. PDF exports represent permanently delivered value that you retain indefinitely, regardless of plan or subscription status.

4. Automatic Renewal

Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing period. It is your responsibility to cancel before the renewal date if you do not wish to continue. We are not obligated to remind you of upcoming renewals, though we may do so as a courtesy.

5. Cancellation

You may cancel your subscription at any time through your account settings. Upon cancellation:

  • No further charges will be made
  • Access continues until the end of the current paid period
  • No refund is provided for the remaining period
  • Your data may be deleted after the retention period specified in our Privacy Policy

6. Plan Changes

  • Upgrades: Take effect immediately; you are charged the prorated difference
  • Downgrades: Take effect at the next billing cycle; no refunds for the current period

7. Billing Disputes

If you believe you were charged in error, you must contact us at alex@handbookhub.com within 14 days of the charge. We will review legitimate billing errors (e.g., duplicate charges, charges after valid cancellation).

Chargebacks: If you initiate a chargeback or payment dispute with your bank or payment provider without first contacting us, we reserve the right to:

  • Immediately suspend or terminate your account
  • Dispute the chargeback with evidence of service delivery
  • Pursue collection of amounts owed
  • Prohibit you from future use of the Service

8. AI Content Disclaimer

AI-generated content quality is inherently variable. Dissatisfaction with AI output is not grounds for a refund. You can evaluate AI quality via the Handbook purchase (including the included Growth access window) and free structure preview, or — if your account has a free trial under earlier terms — during that trial. By paying, you accept AI output quality as adequate for your needs.

9. Exceptions

Refunds are only provided where strictly required by Hungarian or EU consumer protection law. Even in such cases, refunds may be reduced to account for:

  • Value already received (e.g., AI words generated, PDF exports)
  • Any free trial or included Growth access period you had access to

10. Service Credits

At our sole discretion, we may offer service credits (additional subscription time) as a goodwill gesture for documented service outages or technical issues. Service credits:

  • Are not cash refunds
  • Cannot be transferred or exchanged
  • Expire if not used within the granted period
  • Do not set precedent for future issues
